ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for assisting the day-to-day operations of branches and jobsites by providing support and coordination of logistics and services to meet customer needs and project deadlines. The Logistics Specialist owns delivery communications with the warehouse, drivers, and project teams.

  • Provides direct supervision to our internal CDL drivers and Logistics Specialist.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of Hunt Electric and Baer Manufacturing’s overall logistics strategies to reduce costs and maximize profitability.
  • Coordinate and communicate with Hunt Electric’s Project Team and Baer’s Manufacturing Team to establish consistent and efficient delivery methods for goods and services.
  • Solicit input and feedback from internal and external customers to gain buy-in and develop strategic business partnerships.
  • Work with logistics specialist and backup when necessary to support the daily logistics tasks and transactions related to processing, planning, communication, coordination, scheduling, tracking, etc.
  • Collaborate with Hunt Safety Team to advocate and enforce Hunt Electric safety program guidelines and policies as it relates to our internal drivers and equipment.
  • Collaborate with Hunt Fleet Team to advocate and enforce preventative maintenance plan for Hunt owned trucks and trailers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; College degree in Logistics or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years experience with logistics or a related field.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with all modes and methods of transportation.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Demonstrates a flexible and collaborative work style.
  • Demonstrated success in working with immediate team members and other departments to build effective relationships.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt, multi-task and manage changing priorities.

  • Ability to set and meet deadlines.
  • Negotiation skills or experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This job operates in a warehouse environment and is exposed to weather conditions.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) per warehouse requirements, including but not limited to, hard toe work boots, safety glasses, gloves and, high visibility vest.
  • This role occasionally uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines.
  • Employees are frequently required to sit, stand, and occasionally required to bend, kneel, reach, stoop, or crouch.
  • This position may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
